These Terms of Service govern your use of TheCareerMate website and services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, submitting a free review request, or purchasing any service from TheCareerMate, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
2. Our Services
TheCareerMate provides professional resume writing, cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile optimization, and related career services. Our services include:
- Professional resume rewriting and formatting
- ATS optimization and keyword targeting
- Cover letter writing tailored to specific roles
- LinkedIn profile optimization
- Free resume review and feedback
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any service at any time with reasonable notice.
3. User Accounts
When you create an account with us, you are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate and up-to-date information
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized account use
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.
4. Payments & Refunds
Payment: All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Prices are listed in USD and are one-time payments unless otherwise stated.
When you pay: Payment is collected only after you have been matched with a writer and approved the match. No charges occur before this step.
Refund Policy:
- If work has not yet begun, a full refund will be issued upon request
- If work is in progress, a partial refund may be issued at our discretion
- Once the final document is delivered and approved, refunds are not available
- The 60-day interview guarantee (see Section 5) is separate from our refund policy
5. The 60-Day Interview Guarantee
We stand behind our work. If you do not receive any interview invitations within 60 days of receiving your completed resume, we will rewrite it for free. To qualify:
- You must be actively applying to roles that match your experience level
- You must submit at least 10 job applications during the 60-day period
- The roles applied for must align with the target role specified in your order
- You must contact us within the 60-day window with evidence of applications
The guarantee covers one free rewrite. It does not include a cash refund.
6. Your Content
By submitting your resume, career information, or any other content to TheCareerMate, you grant us a limited license to use that content solely for the purpose of providing our services to you.
- You retain full ownership of your resume and career documents
- We will never use your personal information for marketing without consent
- We will never share your documents with other clients
- You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of information you provide
7. Prohibited Use
You agree not to use TheCareerMate to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Resell or redistribute our services without written permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use our services to create content for others for commercial purposes
- Harass, abuse, or harm our staff or other users
8. Intellectual Property
All content on thecareermate.com — including text, graphics, logos, and design — is the property of TheCareerMate and is protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
The resume and career documents we create for you become your property upon full payment and delivery.
9. Limitation of Liability
TheCareerMate provides professional resume writing services. We do not guarantee employment or specific job outcomes. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time if you violate these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@thecareermate.com.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
