1. Overview

At TheCareerMate, we want you to be confident in your purchase. This Refund Policy explains when you are eligible for a refund on our professional resume writing, cover letter, and LinkedIn optimization services. By placing an order, you agree to this policy along with our Terms of Service.

Our goal is simple — if we haven't started your work, you get your money back. Once work is delivered and approved, refunds no longer apply.

2. Before Work Begins

If you change your mind before our writer has started working on your order, you are entitled to a full refund. Simply contact us and let us know — no questions asked.

Because payment is collected only after you have been matched with a writer and approved the match, you are never charged for work you didn't want.

3. Work In Progress

If your writer has already begun working on your resume or document, a partial refund may be issued at our discretion, based on the amount of work completed at that point.

We will always be fair and transparent about where your order stands before processing any partial refund.

4. After Delivery

Once your final document has been delivered and approved by you, the service is considered complete and refunds are no longer available.

If you believe the delivered work does not match what you ordered, contact us within 7 days of delivery. We will review your concern and offer a revision where appropriate.

5. Add-On Services

Add-on services are billed separately and have their own refund terms:

  • Cover Letter — non-refundable once work has commenced
  • LinkedIn Makeover — non-refundable once work has commenced
  • Express Delivery — non-refundable once the order has been prioritized

Before work begins on any add-on, the same full-refund rule in Section 2 applies.

6. The 60-Day Interview Guarantee

Our 60-day interview guarantee is separate from this Refund Policy. If you do not receive any interview invitations within 60 days of receiving your completed resume, we will rewrite it for free. To qualify:

  • You must be actively applying to roles that match your experience level
  • You must submit at least 10 job applications during the 60-day period
  • The roles must align with the target role specified in your order
  • You must contact us within the 60-day window with evidence of applications
The guarantee covers one free rewrite — it does not include a cash refund.

7. Free Resume Review

Our free resume review is exactly that — free. No payment is taken, so there is nothing to refund. It is offered as a no-obligation way to see how we can help before you decide to purchase a paid service.

8. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, email us at support@thecareermate.com with:

  • The email address used to place the order
  • Your order or payment reference (if available)
  • A brief reason for your request

We aim to respond to every refund request within 1–2 business days.

9. Processing Time

Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method. Once processed on our side, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the funds to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider.
